Former Red Bull chief Horner Allegedly Getting in Touch with Numerous Grand Prix Team Bosses
Previous Red Bull team boss Christian Horner is apparently "ringing up pretty much every team owner" as he seeks a re-entry to F1, according to Aston Martin top executive Andy Cowell.
Aston Martin is one of the squads that are associated with the ex-boss.
The team executive revealed he had confirmed the developments with team owner Lawrence Stroll this past Friday at the Marina Bay race.
"It looks as though Christian is getting in touch with most team bosses at the moment," commented the executive.
"I can definitively state there are no intentions for the involvement of Christian in an operational or investment role in the future."
Additional Squads React
The American team boss Ayao Komatsu disclosed that the former Red Bull leader had "reached out to" the American squad but continued: "Things haven't advanced. It's over."
The Renault-owned team top official Steve Nielsen mentioned the organization's advisor and unofficial chief Flavio Briatore was "longtime companions" with the former principal.
The Alpine director continued: "I'm unaware what they discuss. All I can confirm is there are no plans for Christian to arrive at Alpine but that isn't to say it won't happen."
The historic British team team principal James Vowles declared that the ex-chief had not contacted them.
"We're very happy with the setup we have and it's effective," the team principal said. "I see no justification to alter this."
Previous Developments
Horner is able to come back F1 by the second half of the coming year after concluding a severance package with Red Bull on September 22nd.
The veteran motorsport figure was fired as the team's leader after the British Grand Prix in July.
Multiple sources at Red Bull have indicated the settlement package was valued at 60m euros (£52m).
