Bondi Announces Investigation into President's Rivals and Epstein Ties

This past Friday, the Attorney General appointed Jay Clayton to lead an investigation into opponents of the President and their links with the late financier. This move came hours after Trump ordered her to launch the investigation.

During an announcement, the Attorney General highlighted Clayton as “among the nation’s top prosecutors”. The official added, “As with all matters, the department will pursue this with urgency and integrity to deliver answers to the American people.”

This development seems to diverge from a recent memorandum from federal authorities which stated that the Epstein files lacked grounds for further inquiries. According to the document, authorities “found no proof justifying probes into uncharged individuals”

The President Calls for Focus on Political Opponents in the Epstein Matter

The announcement coincides with growing demands from the president on lawmakers to block the public disclosure of files concerning Epstein before an upcoming House vote next week. Several lawmakers are anticipated to support the release.

Recently released emails from Jeffrey Epstein have spotlighted Trump’s past involvement with the sex trafficker, revealing details that he was more aware of Epstein’s actions than earlier acknowledged.

That same day, the President declared he would ask the Department of Justice to examine connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, including prominent individuals such as Clinton, Summers, and Hoffman. Interestingly, he also described the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
